I have discussed SEO several times with friends in many industries but one occasion stands out, the time my friend for many years who works in the recruitment industry spouted the immortal words “you’re like soooo SEO dude”, I was taken a back, not only was his Americano type statement met with several minutes of child-like laughter but it rang true with me on many levels. It has stuck in my head for many years and come up in conversation with said friend on many occasions since. read more »

Panda update left you with black eyes?

Posted in SEO Tips & Advice on June 7th, 2011 by dannychapman – Be the first to comment

Google’s Panda update has changed many people’s SEO strategies, the apparent discounting of many types of link building tecniques have hit some sites hard, rankings falling and business dropping has no doubt been the downfall of many a small business but at Newedge we are structuring our SEO strategies to combat all future changes in Google’s algorithm.

Our tecniques of diverse back link profiles are almost algorithm proof, so much so that we saw little disruption of Panda, if anything we have grown and are flourishing post Panda. This is simply down to our linking methods, we believe that if you put all your link “eggs” in one basket and that basket starts to crack your in trouble! So we spread our eggs, so if a few break there is always enough left for an omelette!

Changing the goal posts yet again

So Google changed the goal posts once again when it unleashed Panda on us all, it is becomming more and more common for Big G to do this and more reason to keep your website algo-proof. In recent times we have had the “Big Daddy”, “Mayday”, “Caffeine”, “Fritz” and ofcourse the “Florida” update all have which have vastly effected websites all across the world with only those who were prepared and algo-proof surviving the drop. Either through luck or good judgement some sites are flying since the recent Panda/Farmer update especially a couple of our clients, there diverse and established back link profile containing many various linking methods is the key.

If you want to be algo-proof you need to act fast, you need to become diverse and offer Google more than “sheep” tactics when it comes to building links, as always though quality is key just do not rely on one single method.

We at Newedge can help you establish that varied backlink profile you need to keep away from algorithm related drops in rankings, traffic and business so give us a call today.
